HealthPod

Who can use the HealthPod? 

The HealthPod is appropriate if you: 

• Are 18 years or older 

• Have a minor illness or non-life-threatening health concern 

• Can visit one of the HealthPod locations and can participate in the appointment 

Booking an Appointment in the HealthPod at the Insight Health Solutions or the Queensway Health Centre (coming soon) 

An appointment can be booked online or by phone. To book an appointment online you will need to register your Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) and will be required to input your personal information. Alternatively, appointments can also be made using the booking kiosk located outside the HealthPod. The registration link will be open daily at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for same day or next-day appointments. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with your booking details and a unique pin code for your appointment at least 15 minutes before your appointment. If you do not receive a confirmation email please call us at 416-521-4095 

If you do not have OHIP, you can still access the HealthPod. Appointments can be booked by phone only and a fee of $80 will apply for each appointment.

Booking an appointment in the HealthPod at Partners Community Health 

Are you a Senior? Do you want to see a General Internal Medicine physician specialist at the HealthPod? 

Appointments are available for seniors aged 65 and older by referral only. To start this process please register on the Mississauga Seniors Navigation Portal https://www.mississaugaseniorsnavigation.ca/ and book an appointment with a Clinical Navigator at the Integrated Seniors Hub. The Clinical Navigator will assess your needs and may recommend a visit to the HealthPod. 

Alternatively, your Primary Care provider can fax a referral to the Solutions Clinic in the HealthPod at 416-521-4140.

Changing or cancelling an appointment 

Appointments booked online can be cancelled by following the instructions in your booking confirmation email. To reschedule or make changes, please contact us at 416-521-4095, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or email insight@thp.ca. 

How to prepare for your HealthPod visit 

You will need the unique pin code that was included in the booking confirmation email. This code will unlock the door and is active from 5 minutes before your appointment start time until 15 minutes after.

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to ensure accurate use of the devices and to assist your provider with the assessment. If you need help with translation, a family member or friend is welcome to assist.

What to Expect during your HealthPod visit 

You will have a virtual consultation with a Nurse Practitioner who will discuss your health concerns and guide you in the proper use of the devices to perform a thorough assessment. Based on your specific needs, the provider may provide recommendations, such as a prescription, referral or other appropriate follow-up.

Please note that at times, the provider may determine that you require a visit to the Emergency Department. Please note that your HealthPod visit does not prioritize your access to the Urgent Care Centre of the Emergency Department.

What do I need for my HealthPod visit? 

You will need the unique pin code that was included in the booking confirmation email. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to ensure accurate use of the devices and to assist your provider with the assessment. If you need help with translation, a family member or friend is welcome to assist. 

If your condition deteriorates ahead of your scheduled appointment, and you require emergency medical assistance, please call 911 or visit the closest Emergency Department.

How do I get into the HealthPod? 

Each HealthPod is equipped with tablet beside the door. When the light is red, the HealthPod is occupied, and when the light is blue, it is available for use. To enter the HealthPod, use the unique pin code provided in your appointment confirmation email. This code will unlock the door and is active from 5 minutes before your appointment start time and is valid for 20 minutes after the scheduled start time. If you have any technical issues with your pin code, please contact 416-521-4095. 

What can I expect during my Healthpod visit? 

You will have a virtual consultation with a Nurse Practitioner or General Internal Medicine physician specialist (Partners Community Health only) who will discuss your health concerns. Based on your individual needs, the provider may recommend one or more of the following: 

• Provide advice and information on self management strategies 

• Send a prescription to your preferred pharmacy 

• Make a referral to a specialist 

• Order blood work or diagnostic imaging 

• Advise on next steps which may include follow-up with your Primary Care Provider or with other facilities accepting new patients 

• At times your may be redirected to the nearest Urgent Care Centre or Emergency Department 

Note: In-person visits to the Emergency Department are not by appointment. You will be triaged when you arrive and may have to wait. 

Do I need an appointment to access the HealthPod? 

Yes, you will be required to schedule an appointment for your visit. Appointments at our Insight Health Solutions location can be scheduled online prior to visiting the HealthPod location or on-site at the booking kiosk located outside the HealthPod. Appointments are currently available for the same day or the next-day only. 

I don’t have OHIP. Can I still book an appointment? 

If you do not have OHIP, you can still access the HealthPod. Appointments can be booked by phone only at 416-521-4095. A fee of $80 will apply for each appointment. 

I’m having trouble using the online booking system. What do I do? 

 If you require technical assistance, please contact us at 416-521-4095 during our operating hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

Can I book an appointment for a family member? 

Yes. You can book a HealthPod appointment for a family member online or by phone. Please refer to “How do I book an appointment in the HealthPod” for detailed instructions. If you already have a registered account, your family member can be added as an additional profile. Please note that the individual receiving care must be present at the appointment. 

Can I book a HealthPod appointment if I don’t speak English or need help? 

Yes. If you need help with translation, one additional family member or friend is welcome to assist you during your visit.

Is my privacy and security protected with HealthPod visits?

HealthPod visits are fully secure and comply with all provincial privacy regulations, including the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Information and Protection of Privacy Act (IPPA). The technology and devices used within the HealthPod meet Health Canada standards and are designed to safeguard patient confidentiality throughout the virtual care process. For privacy and security reasons, recording devices are not permitted during visits. This policy protects both patients and providers, ensuring a safe, secure environment.

The HealthPod is a new and innovative way to engage with the healthcare system.
